- 1896, September 1 — Takes birth in Calcutta as Abhay Charan De, on Nandotsava.
- 1920 — Refuses his B.A. diploma in support of Gandhi's non-cooperation.
- 1922 — Meets his spiritual master, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī, who asks him to preach in the West.
- 1933 — Accepts formal dīkṣā at the Allahabad Gauḍīya Maṭha; named Abhay Charaṇāravinda.
- 1937, January 1 — Departure of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī, leaving the order to preach in English.
- 1939 — Receives the honorary title 'Bhaktivedanta' from his Godbrothers.
- 1944 — Starts the 'Back to Godhead' magazine.
- 1959, September 17 — Awarded sannyāsa at Mathurā as Bhaktivedanta Swami.
